The owners of Mottram Hall are planning to extend the hotel and conference facilities.
QHotels, which acquired Mottram Hall from De Vere in November 2014, wants to build a two-storey conference centre extension featuring nine meeting rooms, a new four-storey bedroom extension with 34 bedrooms, 15 more bedrooms through the conversion of existing meeting rooms and more car parking.
The resort between Stockport and Macclesfield also boasts a championship golf course.
Hotel group QHotels has submitted a full planning application to Cheshire East Council to alter and extend Mottram Hall. The grade II*-listed building was constructed as a country house in 1750 but is now home to a four-star 120-bedroom hotel.
Cheshire East Council has set a target decision date of September 5 for the proposals.
