Stockport’s largest commercial landlord, Orbit Developments, is supporting this year’s first ever Old Town Fringe Festival.
The deal is a two year commitment worth £8500. Head of the organising committee Joe Barratt said the sponsorship was hugely welcome:

The festival, which will take place from the 29th to the 31st August, will include exciting themed entertainment, activities and stalls at venues around the town centre.
On Friday 29th the theme will be music, with traditional Irish music performed at Seven Miles Out and acoustic folk and Indie sessions at the Bakers Vaults. Foodie Friday will also be taking place in the market square, with an eclectic mix of street food stalls.
On Saturday 30th the theme is art and entertainment includes a range of interactive art activities, including the launch of the Stockport Old Town Public Art Trail. In Seven Miles Out and the Angel Courtyard there will be acoustic music sessions, street art and graffiti workshops as well as a film screening.
On Sunday 31st Stockport’s traditional Victorian Market Hall will be transformed into a vibrant Festival of Markets, featuring all the specialist markets Stockport Old Town has to offer, including The Vintage Village, The Teenage Market, the Book & Record Fair and the Handmade Market.
There will also be a Festival of Dance, featuring performances from local dance groups, street dance freestylers, Irish Dancers, Clog Dancers, the Morris Men and the Urban Gypsies.
