If you’ve got a great idea on how to make your neighbourhood even better, applications to Stockport Local Fund can be submitted until midnight Sunday 5th August 2018.
The online application process is quick and easy – you can even submit it on your mobile phone!
Successful ideas could be anything from organising one-off community events to setting up regular activities, new groups or drop-ins.
Councillor Elise Wilson, Cabinet Member for Reform and Governance at Stockport Council said:
“Local events are a great way to bring communities closer together. A litter sweep will bring neighbours together and make your local area a nicer place to live. Or maybe you could link up people who don’t have much contact with others – a buddy system for people who live alone to check if they need anything, for example.”
Anyone can apply to Stockport Local Fund – funding will range from £200 up to £10,000 per project. And if you’ve never done anything like this before and need a little help, get in touch through our web pages and we can connect you with people to support you through the whole process.
Councillor Wilson adds:
“Why not ask for help from others in your neighbourhood to develop your idea? You’ll find a lot of people with experience of community events and activities in your area who will be willing to help. Tell people about your idea and ask for their suggestions and support. A little joint effort and time might be all that’s needed to make your idea ready to apply to the fund.”
If you’re not quite ready to apply at this point, the good news is there will be many more opportunities to apply for funding in the future. Sign up for email updates on our web-pages so you don’t miss future application dates. Visit the Stockport Local Fund webpages to find out more: https://www.stockport.gov.uk/slf.
