One of the North West’s fastest growing healthcare companies is looking to increase its capacity, double its pharmacy operations, and hire more staff after securing a major deal with Yorkshire Bank.
Founded in 2011– although originating in 2000 – Preston-based MDS Healthcare provides medication through its wholesale and logistics business to around 100 care homes in the region from its specialist care homes hub in Clayton-le-Woods. It also runs two pharmacy operations in Preston.
Through several alliances, it also operates two further pharmacy operations in the region, all under the umbrella trading name “Pharmalogic Chemists”.
A new customer to Yorkshire Bank, MDS Healthcare has secured a working capital facility which will help purchase two new pharmacies in Blackburn.
The deal was delivered by Paul Swanick, relationship manager at the Bank’s Business and Private Banking Centre in Preston.
Javid Patel, Commercial Director of MDS Healthcare, said:
“As a company with a growing reputation in our field we have ambitions to expand further in the coming years.
“Since forming our own operation three years ago, it has been a particularly successful period and we’re now looking to capitalise on that momentum, build on our brand, while helping to create jobs and opportunities along the way.
“This would not have been possible without the support of the Yorkshire Bank which has worked closely with our team to help us realise our long term growth plans.”
MDS Healthcare employs 50 full time staff and is looking to double its revenue.
