Stockport will be well represented in this years’ Teenstar competition as NK Theatre Arts saw two of their Dance teams reach the grand final of the national contest. Around 8,000 acts from throughout the United Kingdom entered this year in three separate age groups, with NK’s “Vibe” Street Dance team and the lyrical dance team “Inclination” both getting a place among their appropriate age group.
The company entered the Greater Manchester Auditions and won through to the regional finals, and with both teams being successful, they will will now perform in London in July for the grand prize. Hannah Gorst who leads both the dance teams was incredibly proud of the achievement of the classes.
“We are thrilled that both of our teams have made it to the grand final of this competition. The young people we have in our organisation are such a dedicated and talented group and they have worked so hard to really challenge and stretch themselves and this has been a wonderful journey for them all and we are super proud. Everyone is really excited for the final, for both of our groups to get down from 8,000 to around 20 acts left in their group is immense.”
The talent competition winner will be crowned the winner of TeenStar in front of a capacity crowd, including industry insiders, celebrity guests, national press, A&R from record labels casting companies, theatrical agents and media representatives. The final is taking place on Saturday 14th July.
