NK Theatre Arts have been recognised for 9 gongs at the forthcoming Manchester Musical Awards, the third year the Stockport based Charity has been adjudicated for its musical performances with their productions of “Tommy” and “Footloose”.
Both ‘Tommy’ and ‘Footloose’ received numerous nominations including Best Show, Best Director, Best Choreographer and Best All-Round Performance.
The highlight nomination though is saved for 7 year old Reece Barker Wilson who has been selected in the Best Supporting Actor category for his portrayal of 4 year old Tommy.
Company Manager Darren Stannage said:
“It’s great news for NK, to be recognised for artistic achievements against other societies throughout the whole of Greater Manchester is excellent. A nomination for an individual is also one for the whole company, as without the countless volunteers behind the scenes the shows we present simply wouldn’t be possible.
“As a Charity, the hard work takes place throughout the year rather than just when the performances are staged, but they are a great icing on the cake and we are all thrilled” .
The awards evening takes place on 13th June in Bury with NK looking to win for the third successive year.
