Based at Life Leisure’s Stockport Sports Village, new fitness studio, H1VE, has announced former Olympic athlete, Andy Turner, will be joining the team as its Lead Coach.
Andy Turner has previously represented Great Britain at two Olympic Games, and won gold in the 110 m hurdles event at the 2010 European Championships. He will lead a team of ‘rockstar’ coaches, offering fitness classes combining cardio, functional, strength and conditioning training at the new Stockport fitness studio which is set to open on 6th January.
Andy said:
I’m thrilled to be part of this really exciting venture – it’s totally different to anything I’ve seen before, from the actual facility design to the format and technology used.
“What’s even better from my point of view is that, while we are keeping membership levels deliberately low so that every individual gets more attention, the whole idea is incredibly inclusive. Whether you are used to training at an elite level or a complete gym newbie just looking to try something a bit different, the community-focussed approach combined with the personalised tracking and coaching, means that everyone can excel and achieve their goals.”
H1VE has been offering taster sessions at Stockport Sports Village ahead of opening in the New Year. The next event will be on Saturday 4th and Sunday 5th January, between 12pm and 4pm.
Taster classes will be running throughout the day, at 12.30pm, 1.30pm and 2.30pm. Classes designed to blend the health, wellbeing and social benefits of group exercise with the advantages of personal training, through the use of high-tech equipment to monitor individual performance.
Unlike a traditional gym membership, H1VE’s membership will be on a monthly, rather than yearly basis, and also give access to all classes, gyms and swimming pools at Life Leisure’s Stockport centres, as well as Stockport Sports Village in Woodley where the new fitness studio is based.
