Despite having to close one business, landlady Anne Maley has found a new lease of life at Pepper House Business Centre and Let Loose Play facility in Hazel Grove.
The past few years have been extremely challenging for some Stockport Businesses and, while many have weathered the proverbial storm, others have diversified into new markets.
One example is at Pepper House in Hazel Grove, previously home for over 20 years to Maley Design & Advertising (MDA), now a suite of managed offices and home to the one of the North West’s brightest and newest play centres, Let Loose.
Anne Maley, former Chief Executive of MDA and landlady of the 33,000 sq ft business unit, was keen to ensure that when MDA closed in 2009, a fresh approach would open new business opportunities, create jobs locally and provide a secure financial future:
“It was a sad occasion when MDA closed its door for the last time. But I had to look forward and Pepper House presented new opportunities. Working with the local planning team and highways department at Stockport Council, we were able to agree to a change of use; Pepper Business Centre now provides flexible managed offices and conference facilities in Pepper House, a refreshing change at Pepper Café and lots to occupy youngsters in Let Loose Play centre”.
Like many others, this is another example of a family run Stockport based business. Anne’s daughters Debra and Vicky now own and manage the business centre at Pepper House and Let Loose.
Let Loose is celebrating its 1st birthday with a BBQ and Disco party on Friday 24th May from 6pm – 9pm with a guest appearance from CBBC presenter Ceallach Spellman. Family tickets £18 and additional / single tickets for adults & children £5 each. Telephone reservations: 0161 457 4510
