Tech site musicMagpie.co.uk has launched a brand-new version of its iOS app which will now enable customers to buy refurbished tech and media from the musicMagpie Store as well as trade-in their unwanted items.
The new app will make it a seamless experience to purchase refurbished tech and media products from the musicMagpie Store. Discounted phones from brands such as Apple, Samsung and HTC are all available to buy on the app, as well as a range of other items such as MacBooks and wearables, along with thousands of CDs, DVDs and video games.
Whilst the addition of the Store to the app will make purchasing a lot easier, the trade-in element of the app has also been enhanced. The updated barcode scanner will allow customers to scan up to 500 items into their basket to get an instant price. Plus, if customers have already registered with the site, these details will be the same for the app, allowing them to move easily between the app and the site. What’s more, customers will now be able to trade-in tech in just three taps, whereas previously they would have had to trade-in via the site.
Liam Howley, marketing director at musicMagpie, comments:
“We know our four million customers love our apps and following the success of musicMagpie Store since its launch in January 2016, it was a natural progression to add our Store onto the app. Customers can now sell their old phone for the best price on the market, and within the same app, purchase their next smartphone at a fraction of the cost of new, with free delivery and 12-month warranty.
“After many years of being Amazon’s biggest global seller of pre-owned media, their recent fee increases to all media sellers have meant that even more outstanding value is offered to the customer when shopping directly on the musicMagpie store, and the new app gives them the best place to do that with prices from £1.09, plus free delivery.”
The new app allows anyone with an iPhone to scan barcodes and complete trades for unwanted tech, phones, CDs, DVDs, games and books, edit details and check the status of any orders that have already been sent in, as well as any purchases from the Store.
Up to 500 items can be scanned and valued with the app, and with purchases from the Store, customers can keep a track of what they’ve bought right up until their items are delivered. An Android version of the app will also be available to download in the coming months.
