Stockport based circular economy pioneer, musicMagpie, has been confirmed as a sponsor of the local LGBTQ+ community’s Pride festival.
The event takes place on 31st July in Stockport’s Market Place and is returning to the town centre for the first time since the Covid-19 pandemic. The festival is set to include entertainment, stalls, and a parade through the town centre, aided by the support of local businesses sponsoring the event.
musicMagpie is the sponsor of this year’s Martyn Hett Stage. With a day full of singers, bands, drag queens and dancers – the stage is named in honour of a member of the local community who passed away in the Manchester Arena attack.
The Chairperson of Stockport Pride’s organising committee, Stephen Bowyer, said:
“The support of musicMagpie has been invaluable to help us bring Stockport Pride back to the town centre. It shows their strong commitment to equality, diversity and inclusion.”
Sam Vesey, Chief Sustainability Officer at musicMagpie, said:
“We’re thrilled to be able to support Stockport Pride this year and look forward to being able to celebrate the local LGBTQ+ community on what’s set to be a brilliant day for all.”
