Stockport Council’s fostering team is holding a fostering recruitment open evening on Tuesday 5th August at the Reddish Green Centre, from 6.00pm.
Local foster carers and employees from the Council’s Fostering team will be attending the event to offer information and advice to people considering becoming a foster carer.

Councillor Wendy Meikle, Stockport Council’s Executive Member for Children and Young People, said:
“I would encourage residents who are interested in becoming a foster carer to come along to this event and learn more about the challenging but hugely rewarding role.
“We are particularly keen to hear from people who want to be part of our specialist fostering scheme and become role models for teenagers in their care and challenge decisions to achieve the best outcome for them.”
The Mayor and Mayoress of Stockport visited the Council’s Fostering stall on Saturday 28th June at Heald Green Festival to help encourage people to consider fostering.
