Millie’s Trust, the Stockport-based charity which aims to make first aid training available to everyone, has instructed digital marketing agency Platform81 to run a social media campaign to raise awareness of its life-saving work.
Following the tragic loss of their daughter Millie Thompson in a choking incident at nursery in 2012, parents Joanne and Dan Thompson established Millie’s Trust with the mission of making first aid training as affordable and accessible as possible so that more people are equipped to act in life-or-death situations.
Running throughout October, the inaugural Millie’s Trust Awareness Month will launch with the hashtag #TrustYourTraining. This will be supported by a range of online activities to maximise the reach of the charity’s key messages through exclusive video content and the introduction of a digital awareness ribbon (Twibbon) that social media users can add to their profiles to show support. In order to align the campaign with Joanne and Dan’s commitment to making first aid training more accessible, a large portion of the digital content will be available to view on mobiles for quick, digestible and on-the-go access.
Amanda Childs, head of social media at Platform81, said: “We want to help Millie’s Trust raise awareness of its work and the importance of learning first aid. We hope to create an urgency that will inspire both engagement and action through a campaign that explores the harrowing reality of what happens when parents and carers are unable to act.”
Joanne Thompson, Millie’s mum and founder of Millie’s Trust said: “We are very excited to be working on a project with Platform81 as we have seen the quality of their previous work and we know that the content will be amazing. We love teaming up with local companies and it’s fantastic to have them on board. This is the first time that we have used a marketing company to spread awareness of Millie’s Trust and we are looking forward to seeing what this can achieve for the charity”.
The campaign will run across all Millie’s Trust social media platforms –
