An industry leading office technology sales and service provider, Midshire Business Systems, has been awarded another internationally recognised accreditation – standard ISO/IEC 27001:2013 – for its Information Security Management System (ISMS) and certified by the accredited British Standards Institute – BSI.
Security management is becomingly increasingly important for businesses and Midshire is committed to protecting its data and that of it its customers from risk and completed stage two for ISO 27001 in February 2015. They began the process in November 2014 coinciding with a move to a new office and warehouse facilitiy in West Bromwich.
The company has worked across all areas of the business to fully comply with the necessary standards prior to a five day audit by BSI who confirmed that Midshire had successfully established its data security in line with the ISO 27001 requirements.
Achieving ISO 27001 sets Midshire apart as a forward thinking, responsible supplier, continually looking to improve in all aspects of the business to achieve best practice status.

- To manage the protection of client and business data relating to Midshire activities.
- All information assets are identified, risk assessed and best industry standard controls implemented.
- A Clear Desk Policy – to ensure confidential paperwork is removed from desks and workstations every night.
- A Clear Screen Policy – to protect the data visible at workstations.
- New threat detection and monitoring software for email, networks and infrastructure.
- Data Erase – Information protected against unauthorised access. Full control of data destruction & hardware, with waste transfer notes and disposal certificates issued.
