Simon Hood, owner of The Crown pub in Hawk Green, Marple, has praised his accountants, Hallidays, for their extra support while stranded on a cruise ship for 16 days.
The Marple pub owner was travelling on a cruise ship sailing from Dubai to Cape Town with his wife when the lockdown was announced. The Crown, Hawk Green had to close whilst he was still at sea and it was through Hallidays that he first heard the word ‘furlough’.
Simon was overwhelmed by the support he received from Hallidays, receiving daily live blog updates on critical business support and regular communications with his General Manager, Lynne back in the UK. With limited mobile signal at sea, his only method of communication was via his emails which he said kept him sane as he felt so isolated. He said:
I just wanted to put on record my appreciation to you and ALL the team at Hallidays for everything you are doing to assist myself and Claire at this really difficult trading time.
“I know you are all working flat out and going the extra mile for your clients please pass on my thanks to all the people in your team.
“Once again you are doing a great job…THANKS.”
Lynne, his General Manager at The Crown pub in Marple, deals with Hallidays on a daily basis, has also sung Hallidays’ praises and wants to thank all the pub’s customers for their support; she looks forward to sharing a drink with them all again soon.
Stockport based Hallidays have been providing daily Covid-19 alerts from their blog to keep clients and business owners informed on any action they need to take during the coronavirus pandemic.
