Manchester Airport’s £100 million World Logistics Hub has secured planning permission.
The outline planning application was approved by the Planning and Highways Committee at a meeting of Manchester City Council yesterday (22 November).
Bosses at the airport said that the new hub, which will create more than 1,800 jobs over the next 15 years, will attract international businesses to the region.
The development will be part of the Airport City enterprise zone and will create between 1.2 and 1.4 million square feet of logistics space.
A mixture of medium and small-sized logistics units will be constructed on the 91.2-acre site, which will also have 36.6 acres of landscaped gardens and natural habitats.
