On Sunday 26th May, a team from MAN Diesel & Turbo UK’s (MDT-UK) Headquarters in Hazel Grove joined some 40,000 other runners in completing the BUPA Manchester 10K Run. The runners included MDT-UK Managing Director Andrew Bellamy, Heidi Boateng, Derek Wendel and Keith Flamee, training provider Val Brown, family and friends.

The team competed to raise funds for the Walthew House Charity, one that has been specially chosen by the Company as their official, nominated charity for 2013/14.
Walthew House is an independent local charity supporting people in Stockport who are blind, visually impaired, deaf or hard of hearing or who have dual sensory loss. The charity is named after John Walthew, who founded the charity back in 1882.
Everyone completed the run with good finishing times on an unusually hot sunny day, with the route taking the runners through the centre of Manchester and out past the Manchester United football stadium at Old Trafford before returning to the city centre.
On Thursday 6th June, Mr Bellamy (pictured above farthest right) presented a cheque for £580 to the charity outside their premises in Shaw Heath.
MAN Diesel & Turbo UK will continue to support the charity and plans more fundraising events as well as personal direct assistance by staff over the next few months.
