On Tuesday 29 January 2013, MAN Diesel & Turbo UK Ltd (MDT-UK) Stockport hosted a visit from 25 people from 7 different European countries involved in providing apprenticeships and training for young people.
The UK part of the visitors’ tour had been arranged by staff at Tameside College in Ashton-under-Lyne.
The group were welcomed by Andrew Bellamy, Managing Director of MDT-UK, who gave a presentation on experiences of apprenticeships in the UK and was later followed by a tour of the Hazel Grove site and Training Academy.
Academy Instructors, Andy Fenn and Roger Scanlon, as well as two of MDT-UK’s apprentices Brendan McCormick and Jake Poole, were also on hand to answer questions and provide information.
