In May the Captain of the MV Oriana was presented with a plaque to celebrate their MAN Diesel & Turbo engines completing 100,000 operational hours.
The presentation by MAN Diesel & Turbo UK Managing Director, Andrew Bellamy, was carried out on board the vessel in Southampton prior to a short cruise to Norway.
Owned by Carnival PLC, The MV Oriana was built by the Mayer Werft Shipyard in Germany and entered service in 1995. She is capable of carrying almost 2,000 passengers over her ten decks.
Four x MAN 9 and 6 cylinder L58/64 engines help the vessel reach a maximum service speed of 24 knots whilst 8 x MAN 6L40/54 auxiliary engines are used for power generation.
