Stockport MP, Navendu Mishra, has visited The Woodlands in Heaton Mersey to see how progress has been made on building the retirement community under construction from Adlington Retirement Living.
The local MP donned hi-vis and hard hat to visit the construction site that will bring 63 age-exclusive apartments to the Stockport neighbourhood, where he viewed plans and laid a brick.
Navendu Mishra MP commented:
“I was delighted to visit the site of The Woodlands, an independent living development in Heaton Mersey. Once completed, the apartments and communal facilities will encourage retirees to maintain their independence and will have a real sense of community. This will be a welcome addition to the local area, I look forward to returning and meeting new homeowners when the project is completed.”
Lee Pitchford, Construction Director of Adlington Retirement Living, added:
“It was a pleasure to welcome Mr Mishra to the site of our latest retirement community to view our progress with construction. Adlington’s vision is to empower our older generation to live a long, happy and healthy life. We do that by creating safe and secure environments with active communities, extensive facilities, and spacious, quality homes, providing an opportunity to enjoy retirement with a new perspective.”
Once complete, the scheme will offer 63 one, two and three-bedroom apartments specifically designed for over-55s. Also being developed on site are communal facilities including hairdressing salon, therapy room, activities studio, and a guest suite for visiting friends and family. As construction progresses, Adlington Retirement Living has begun to accept off-plan reservations for the first new residents of the Heaton Mersey development.
