Life Leisure Houldsworth Village has been confirmed as a finalist in the 2015 ukactive & Matrix Flame Awards. The shortlist for the most highly coveted national awards in the health, fitness and physical activity sector represents the penultimate stage in the awards assessment process.
Designed to celebrate organisations shaping the future of physical activity in the UK, the awards seek to acknowledge small to large fitness facilities, outdoor fitness providers, suppliers, innovations and individuals committed to getting more people, more active, more often.
The news was announced by ukactive CEO David Stalker who revealed the finalists through a live ukactive webinar. The winners will be announced at the ukactive & Matrix Flame Awards Night on June 24th at The International Centre, Telford.
David Stalker commented:
“With hundreds of nominees vying for these prestigious awards, being confirmed as a finalist is a significant achievement in itself. As such I would like to congratulate every finalist who has reached this stage. The assessment process is well known for being exceptionally rigorous and the standard keeps getting better with every year. We are looking forward to celebrating with all the finalists and seeing who takes away the honours at the awards night.”
Chris Scott, General Manager at Life Leisure said,
‘We are absolutely thrilled to be announced as a Flame Finalist for the Leisure Centre of the Year (Streamline) category at the industry’s most prestigious awards. It’s a great achievement for all the staff who have worked really hard over the last eighteen months whilst Houldsworth Village was transformed, installing a fantastic performance zone and remodelled studio offering. The centre continues to go from strength to strength following it’s unique partnership with British Weight Lifting and the continuous improvements have now been recognised nationally by being selected for this major award.’
Chris continued,
‘I would also like to thank our loyal members at Houldsworth Village, without whom we would not have such a fantastic club and atmosphere. They keep us on our toes and are a vital part of the success we are seeing at the centre.’
