Criminal lawyers pieced together the clues to win the annual Booth Ainsworth LLP Quiz Night held at Edgeley Park on Thursday 27th March.
Solicitors Burton Copeland LLP came up with the right answers to gain a narrow two-point victory over 71 rival teams at Edgeley Park, Stockport.
The team of Mark Cole, Tim Andrew, Damian Wall and team captain Laura Ward Jones, won the coveted Booth Ainsworth LLP Quiz Trophy for the first time after going close the previous two years.
The annual event raised £5,350 for St Ann’s Hospice which provides free care to 3,000 patients, their families and carers each year in Greater Manchester.

Question master David Powell, Managing Partner at Booth Ainsworth LLP, said:
“This is the 13th year we’ve been running the quiz and it always gets unbelievable support.
“It really sells itself and has become a major event in the Stockport business calendar while helping such a worthy charity as St Ann’s Hospice. I’d like to thank everyone for taking part once again and raising so much money.”
Tim Andrew said:
“We got lucky tonight and we’ve been coming to the quiz for a long time. It’s always well organised and we’re delighted to support a brilliant cause such as St Ann’s.”
Two answers they admitted helped clinch victory were naming Filippo Inzaghi as the player who scored twice in AC Milan’s win over Liverpool in the 2007 Champions League final and identifying actress Ava Gardner in the picture round.
