Loyal regulars of the King’s Hall Cheadle Hulme and new visitors can look forward to a brighter future as the UK’s largest independent pub operator moves into the much-loved property on Station Road.
Stonegate Pub Company, who own over 650 pubs and employ more than 12,000 staff nationwide, acquired the pub from previous owners JD Wetherspoon, following the for sale signs going up in May this year, which had led to fears about the future of the premises.
The change of ownership promises a fresh chapter for the once famous hall dating back to the 1930’s and new opportunities including significant investment, which is being planned for the first quarter of 2017.
The King’s Hall Cheadle Hulme was closed for just three days whilst JD Wetherspoon moved out and Stonegate moved in ready for reopening at 5pm this evening – Friday 14th October.
Visitors will feel at home as familiar faces among the staff have been retained. A few noticeable changes include a new menu being prepared ready for the doors reopening.
Chief Executive Simon Longbottom commenting on the company’s purchase said: “We have a strong track record in picking sites that when we add a touch of Stonegate magic, customers love.
“We are already planning the next stage of the pub’s future with investment which will enhance the pubs offer and we’re looking forward to revealing those plans in the coming months. In the meantime it’s a huge welcome to the pub’s team and loyal customers whom we look forward in continuing to serve.“
