Vernon Building Society’s Jubilee Fund awarded a local theatre group with £550 for new lighting and electrical equipment.
Our Lady’s Theatre Group offers anyone aged over 7 the opportunity to learn acting singing, dancing and stagecraft in a safe and supportive environment. The group is staffed by volunteers including those trained Special Educational Needs and dyslexia.
Staff from Vernon Building Society attended the group’s performance of The Eye of the Pharaoh to find out more and meet those involved.

Lucy Turnbull, Marketing Co-ordinator at the Vernon said:
“The performance was great and the enthusiasm displayed shows how much the group means to everyone involved. The fact that everyone gives up their time voluntarily and that it’s so inclusive really highlights why our panel chose Our Lady’s Theatre Group to receive an award from the Jubilee Fund.”
The Vernon’s Jubilee Fund will be receiving applications from local charity and community groups again in 2014, interested groups are encouraged to visit the Society’s website for more information.
