Over 350 more people in Stockport have a job now than they did this time last year after new figures for February were released by the Office of National Statistics.
This welcome news comes in the same month that official figures released by BIS show that the proportion of young people not in education, employment or training (NEET) in the UK is the lowest it has been since 2008.
Commenting Lisa Smart, Prospective MP for Hazel Grove, said –
“This is more good news for Stockport – once again more people have jobs now than this time last year, work has begun on building our much-needed A6 relief road, and cutting tax for low and middle earners will kick in from April of this year putting more cash in our pockets.”
