Employee-owned Stockport wholesaler, Parfetts, has been named retail wholesaler of the year in a national industry awards.
The firm has gained national recognition from the Federation of Wholesale Distributors Gold Awards after its rapid growth in last couple of years. The wholesaler hit a record turnover of £570 million in the last financial year and has seen its Go Local fascia expand to reach 850 stores.
Commenting on the award, Guy Swindell, joint managing director of Parfetts, said:
“The award is fantastic recognition for everyone at Parfetts. We know that our success is tied to our customers’ success, and we work hard to offer a product and service range that will support them and help them remain competitive in a tough retail environment.
“During the pandemic, we supported our customers – ensuring supply, access and availability. It was and continues to be a key focus. However, it was vital that this was done without sacrificing the personal service, innovation and great prices that Parfetts is known for.”
In the last year, the firm has expanded its geographical reach, rolling out its delivered service into the Midlands, and growing online orders to account for 40% of business. The wholesaler has also launched a new off-licensed focused fascia, The Local.
Parfetts is now eyeing future growth by investing in its hybrid cash and carry and delivery model to continue its ambitious plans to recruit more symbol stores and push its geographical reach.
