Stockport based global exporter Hughes Safety Showers have won the prestigious Investors in People Health & Wellbeing Good Practice Award, one of only six companies in the UK to achieve the accolade.
Hughes, who already hold the Gold award for Investors in People, were invited to participate in the national pilot scheme for the new Framework Health and Wellbeing award that focusses in-depth on key issues, such as effective planning, supportive management, supportive culture, work-life balance and evaluation.

Human Resources Manager Stephen Hudson said:
“The achievement represents a strong commitment to all of our employees and complements our Investors in People Gold accreditation, which is the benchmark of excellence in people management.
“We are also one of the very few manufacturing companies to have the ‘Investors in People Champion’ status, where we encourage other companies to participate and advance in the scheme.”
Presentations took place at the Churchill War Rooms in London where Stephen proudly received the award on behalf of the company.
Stephen added:
“I am honoured on behalf of Hughes Safety Showers. It was a real effort and thank you to everybody for their help.
“We would like to thank Investors in People for allowing us to participate in the scheme and to all of the staff for their continued co-operation in making Hughes an excellent place to work.”
