Leading UK retailer Fat Face, with stores throughout the UK, chose not to discount products on ‘Black Friday’ – which is seen as the beginning of the Christmas shopping season – and instead donated money to local charities near to their stores.
The store in Wilmslow chose to support the Cheadle-based charity, Together Trust, raising a total of £889.77 to help the charity that provides special education, fostering, residential and community care to over 2,300 young people and adults in the North West each year.
The national campaign saw 10% of profits* during 26th-30th November, split between nominated charities across the country. The total donation stood at £198,419 – the single biggest donation in the history of Fat Face.
The Together Trust believes that everyone deserves an equal chance in life and through supporting people with behavioural problems, learning difficulties, physical disabilities and autism spectrum conditions they help to achieve just that.
Jen Sweeney, Senior Fundraiser at the Together Trust, said, “We are thrilled to have been the chosen charity of Fat Face, Wilmslow. The money raised will go towards the young people, adults and families that the Together Trust supports.”
Hannah, Supervisor at the Fat Face Wilmslow Store, added, “I really loved the ‘Thanks for Giving’ campaign we ran in November. Christmas is a time for giving and we are so happy to present this cheque to the Together Trust and support the important work they do. Thank you to our customers for helping to make this happen!”
