Affecting children and young people with special educational needs and disabilities – SEND TRANSPORT:
SMBC are seeking views on the four proposals below, relating to special educational needs and disabilities (SEND) home to school/college transport provision for children and young people aged 0-25:
– Plans to raise awareness of the benefits of Personal Transport Budgets to eligible parents and carers.
– Plans to raise awareness of the benefits of Independent Travel Training (ITT) to parents and carers of eligible children with SEND.
– A planned review of all current transport routes and vehicle occupancy levels.
– A proposal to increase the use of on-street pick-ups and drop-offs, which would reduce journey time and increase vehicle occupancy.
Please complete the online survey by Monday 11th November to have your say on the proposals for SEND transport in Stockport.
Street Cleaning:
In 2018 the council consulted with the public on a range of proposals to reduce street cleaning and park and highway verge maintenance. Councillors used the feedback from this exercise to inform their decision making on implementing these proposals. The reductions proposed in 2018 were not implemented. We are now proposing a saving that will have a lesser impact on the service provided to the public.
In the year 2018/19 there was a £110,00 underspend in the street cleaning budget. We are proposing to remove this underspent budget along with an additional £40,000, meaning the street cleaning budget would be reduced by £150,000 in total.
Please complete the online survey by Monday 11th November to have your say on the proposals for street cleaning in Stockport.
Paper copies of both surveys are also available in Stockport Libraries.
