Stockport Council is preparing a Local Plan for the borough and is looking to hear views of residents on the principles that will underpin policies set out in the Local Plan.
The Local Plan is a document required by government and prepared by councils that is used to help decide on whether to approve planning applications for new developments and future land use.
Stockport Council has already heard views from local people in developing the One Stockport Borough Plan, and has taken that information to establish some high-level principles. The council would now like to hear from local people and communities about whether these principles are right for Stockport. Feedback will be used to develop the draft planning policies, which, if adopted, will be used to decide whether to approve planning applications for new developments in the future.
To access the survey and for more information, please go to: the Council’s consultation website. The survey will be open until 30 September. There will also be further opportunities to comment on the proposals as work on the Local Plan progresses.
