Local relationship bank, Handelsbanken, this week announced that Liz Williamson has been appointed as Deputy Branch Manager of their Stockport branch.
Liz joined the branch 18 months ago, having previously spent 23 years in relationship roles at RBS.
As Deputy, Liz will support Branch Manager Lisa Dobson in managing the nine-strong team, while continuing to develop existing customer relationships and welcoming new customers to Handelsbanken’s bespoke approach to local banking.
A strong focus on long-term relationships and high levels of personal service has seen the Bank rated top for customer satisfaction 11 years running in an independent survey of British banks’ personal and business customers. Branches are responsible for making all day-to-day banking decisions based solely on their customers’ requirements, free from product and lending targets or bonus incentives.
Handelsbanken have been present in Stockport for 11 years and Liz’s appointment as Deputy further cements the Bank’s commitment to the area.
Liz commented:
“Since joining the Bank, I have found its pure focus on serving the customer so refreshing. I am excited to begin the role as Deputy Branch Manager and I am looking forward to supporting Lisa in managing and growing our corporate and individual banking customers.”
Lisa Dobson, Branch Manager at Handelsbanken Stockport, added:
“I am pleased to welcome Liz into her new role. As a team we have recently been actively engaged in helping RBS customers switch to a new bank. To date we have seen a number of valuable new customer relationships come to fruition and the feedback from these customers has confirmed the Bank’s firm commitment to excellent customer service. Liz’s appointment allows us to continue providing this service to more local businesses and individuals.”
Originally from Sweden, Handelsbanken now has approximately 750 branches in 19 countries. In the UK, where it has established its wholly-owned UK subsidiary, the Bank supports customers in over 200 communities across the country.
