Stockport based Hallidays team members took to the skies over Wales this week to fly high on the fastest zip wire in the world and longest in Europe to raise money for the company’s chosen charity, Beechwood Cancer Care.
‘Zip World Velocity’, in North Wales is described as “the nearest thing to flying”, in which speeds in excess of 100mph can be reached during the adrenalin fuelled mile-long decent. http://www.zipworld.co.uk/experience-zipworld-velocity-zip-world.php

Managing Director Nigel Bennett and Marketing Manager Jane Bennett were joined by their son David and fellow Hallidays colleagues Nichola Coles, Nicola Jackson, Paul Monaghan, Liz Ridley and Natalie Bryan on their trip to Wales. Client Nick Wright from Paragon CPS Limited and his son Josh joined them.
Once kitted up in their suit and harness they were taken through the safety briefing and trialled a smaller Zip run before the drive up the quarry to the ‘big one’.
Nichola Coles, Director at Halliday said:
“Such a fantastic day, not only raising money doing the Zip Lines but raising awareness for the Beechwood Centre, nobody could miss our bright green vests and all the team at the centre were asking about the charity. I felt really secure on the wire and the team at Zip World Velocity were really friendly and professional.
“The birds-eye view over the historic quarry and lake was amazing and if you want an adrenalin rush I would definitely recommend this. I have done a Parachute jump for Beechwood and would put the Zip Wire alongside that.”
The team raised over £400 for Beechwood, their annual charity for 2015/16, taking their fundraising to £950 so far.
