Gorvins Solicitors has advised third-generation family business, Dunsters Farm, on its acquisition of Lancashire food distribution company, Ralph Livesey.
The deal marks a significant milestone for Bury-based Dunsters Farm as it continues strengthening its service offering to schools, care homes, hospitality and leisure venues, and multi-site caterers across the North of England.
The acquisition of Ralph Livesey adds further scale, expertise, and geographic reach, as well as a strong cultural fit between the two family-run businesses.
Gorvins’ Corporate & Commercial team acted for Dunsters Farm on the transaction, led by Christian Mancier (Partner), with support from Gemma Lingard (Senior Associate) and Joe Kitchin (Trainee Solicitor). Amanda Porter (Partner – Commercial Property) advised on the property aspects of the deal.
Tom Mathew, Commercial Director at Dunsters Farm, commented:
“The Gorvins team were fantastic from start to finish. They were thorough, responsive and practical in their advice and understood the pace we needed to work at. They went above and beyond, including out of hours, to keep everything on track.
“What really stood out was their ability to balance the legal detail with commercial reality. They weren’t afraid to challenge aspects of the deal where they saw a better way forward and this helped us reduce risk while staying focused on our strategic goals.”
This latest transaction continues Gorvins’ track record in advising owner-managed and family businesses on acquisitions, growth strategies and long-term succession planning.
