GM Mayor Andy Burnham is set to share his views and opinions as guest speaker at the pro-manchester Economics Conference next month.
Taking place on the 18th October at the Lowry Hotel in Manchester, Andy Burnham will be giving an economic update on the region, reflecting on the projects in progress and the achievements of the past 12 months. He will also take questions from the floor.
Speaking alongside Andy are Mike Blackburn, Sheona Southern – Marketing Manchester & Graham Lucas – Michael Page.
Pro-manchester’s economic conference will be hosted by Dr John Ashcroft, chair of pro-manchester and one of the UK’s leading economists.
Pro-manchester, represents the business community across the region and supports growth and development to promote the north as the place to do business.
This, the 4th annual conference, is back focusing on the “Economics of Greater Manchester” with some interesting themes to drive the agenda.
The conference will examine how the region is likely to be affected by Brexit, the state of employment in the region, prospects for business growth and a look into the housing sector and growth of commercial real estate.
Also on the agenda are the challenges of congestion and pollution: as the region is growing, so are the challenges of improving the travel to work time and experience of our work force. The quality of the journey must improve but so too must the levels of air quality, if quality of life is to be maintained and enhanced.
Attending are local authority leaders, economists and leading businesses with an interest in the city region.
Dr Ashcroft said:
“I am delighted to have Greater Manchester’s Mayor taking to the stage at our Economics Conference to discuss his opinion on our region’s economy.
“I believe Mayor Andy Burnham will add great value to the topics we will be discussing throughout the day and look forward to hearing his insight.”
