GM Mayor Andy Burnham is inviting communities across Greater Manchester to get involved as he develops his plan for Policing and dealing with crime: STANDING TOGETHER: A PLAN FOR POLICE, COMMUNITY SAFETY, CRIMINAL JUSTICE SERVICES AND CITIZENS IN GREATER MANCHESTER.
The GM Mayor is responsible for setting the direction for policing and community safety in the Greater Manchester city-region. He is currently developing a plan for 2018-2020 and wants communities across Greater Manchester to be involved.
As Deputy Mayor with responsibilities for policing and criminal justice, Beverley Hughes is overseeing the development of the plan:
“So far, we have spoken to people working in local neighbourhoods, those who have been victims of crime and their advocates, businesses and various organisations active within Greater Manchester’s different communities. We have also analysed a variety of crime, health and criminal justice statistics.
“This research has been important in shaping the plan and deciding what is important to include. The Mayor would now like to hear what you think our priorities should be to keep you and your loved ones safe.
Have your say by completing our short survey and please encourage your friends and family across Greater Manchester to do the same. We don’t ask for your name and so all responses are confidential. The survey will close at midnight on 14 January 2018.
All responses will be used to finalise the plan, which will be published later in January 2018. If you have any questions, please email firstname.lastname@example.org.
