As part of the Investing in Stockport programme why not get involved and play a part in the future of the borough by giving your opinion on a range of proposals to shape future services:
Sure Start Children’s Centres Consultation
Sure Start Children’s Centres focus on improving outcomes for young children and their families, with a particular focus on the most disadvantaged families, in order to reduce inequalities in child development and school readiness.
We are consulting with all key stakeholders to investigate a range of options for these Children’s Centres.
Alley Gating Consultation
The Council currently provides a service that can result in the gating of adopted alleyways to address high levels of reported crime and/or antisocial behaviour. These alleyways are typically found to the rear of terraced housing, and provide access to rear gardens/yards. This consultation relates to proposals to withdraw the facility to investigate and install any further gating schemes beyond the current 2014/15 programme.
Regulatory and Enforcement Services Consultation
Regulatory and enforcement services currently operate in different areas of the Council.
We are proposing to review regulatory and enforcement standards and create a new service that brings together some of these areas in a team that will deal with Environmental Enforcement in Stockport.
Cllr Sue Derbyshire, Leader of Stockport Council said:
“We would encourage everyone in Stockport to have their say on a number of our proposals currently out to consultation.
“The Council looks to engage with as many people as possible and encourages them to inform the decision making in Stockport. The more people that get involved the better as this will help to shape the future of Council services.”

The consultations close on 15th November.
