Employers of all sizes in Greater Manchester are being urged to take part in a free webinar to see learn how to get involved with the Kickstart scheme.
Kickstart is a government programme to provide fully-funded six-month work placements to young people aged 16-24 on Universal Credit to support them into work and begin careers. Employers of all sizes can apply for funding which covers:
- 100% of the National Minimum Wage (or National Living Wage depending on the age of the participant) for 25 hours per week for a total of 6 months.
- Associated employer National Insurance contributions
- Employer minimum automatic enrolment contributions.
Kickstart is a wonderful opportunity for your business, big or small. It’s a real chance to think a little differently and could even support your future growth plans. Further funding is available for training and development needs, to support the young person in to sustainable employment.
Businesses no longer need a minimum of 30 job placements to apply directly for a grant.
Greater Manchester’s Kickstart Employer Service will host a webinar for employers to learn more about the programme on Thursday 8th April from 11am to 12pm. The session will share advice about the application process, case studies from those already taking part in the scheme and hints and tips.
