Green Charter gardening business is blossoming thanks to some expert nurturing from The HR Dept
Wilmslow after seeking their advice in recruiting new staff as the company look to grow the gardens and grounds maintenance aspect of the business.
Director of The HR Dept Wilmslow, Emma Fay, says:
“Green Charter contacted us as we specialise in providing professional support to SMEs across the South Manchester area. We met for a free initial consultation, where I gained a thorough understanding of his business and discussed his HR needs in detail.”
After hiring subcontractors on a temporary basis for a number of years, they were looking to
promote an existing team member to a permanent supervisory role and to create a permanent administrative position. In addition, they were planning to expand the business by recruiting more gardening staff and required a range of different types of contracts of employment.
Emma Fay says:
“As well as providing permanent employment contracts for existing staff members, I also suggested recruiting for additional staff on an annualised hours basis. With this type of flexible contract, the employee works for a fixed number of hours per year, making it ideal for a seasonal business. It removes any uncertainty if the business is quieter in the winter months, as the employee is still paid a regular wage.”
Chris Mallorie of Green Charter says:
“Emma added extra logic to the task of re-organising my business. She explained the best way to undertake the process of hiring new team members and put everything in place on the HR side. It really helped me with the decision-making process.”
Chris Mallorie adds:
“The HR Dept provides a valuable service to any small business that is growing and going through a transition phase.”
