It’s countdown for Stockport’s newest leisure destination, Redrock, as the Light cinema and restaurants start the finishing touches ahead of the opening in November.
The Light has begun the fit out of its state of the art 10 screen cinema in Stockport town centre.
Priding themselves on treating every single one of their guests like a VIP, The Light will take cinema viewing in Stockport to a new level. Visitors will be able relax and enjoy the latest blockbusters, independent and international films as well as live opera, theatre and pop concerts from around the globe from the comfort of The Light.
Commented Mike Thomson, Commercial Director, The Light Cinemas:
“We are really looking forward to opening in Stockport. Customers are at the heart of The Light and we want everyone to have a trip to the cinema they will remember from the moment they step through our doors. It is not just about the film – it is about the place, the environment, the accessibility and the service. We aim to make all people feel they belong. Redrock is an exciting new destination and we are delighted to be part of it.”
Councillor Kate Butler, Stockport Council’s Cabinet Member for Economy and Regeneration said:
“It’s exciting to see the fit out work at Redrock bringing the building to life as the opening gets closer. Redrock will be a fantastic addition to Stockport and give people yet another reason to visit our town centre. We’re serious about transforming our town and as developments begin to open it’s easy to see the scale of the opportunities being created for everyone in Stockport.”
The Light will be joined at Redrock by Zizzi and Pizza Express with Gourmet Burger Kitchen and Mangobean – others to follow, making the new leisure development a great place to visit and meet up with friends and family in the heart of Stockport.
The opening of The Light in late November comes as Cineworld prepare to close their doors in Stockport Exchange. The closure of Cineworld will make way for the next phase of hugely successful Stockport Exchange. Stockport Exchange has already brought over 250 jobs into Stockport town centre and the development of the new office building as part of phase 3 will add another 200 jobs to this number as the transformation of the area continues.
