Following from his outline of the changes coming in the latest version, Dave Taylor of Amshire IT helps answer whether making the change to Windows 11 will be right for your business.
Whether you’re a Windows or Mac user, the release of Windows 11 probably got you thinking… Do I need to switch to Windows 11? While I can’t make that decision for you here, I can give you three questions that could hopefully steer you in the right direction.
Question Number 1: Are you a Windows native?
Windows users will find it easier to navigate Windows 11.
But if you’re running a business that is predominantly running on the Apple ecosystem, I’m not quite sure you need the change.
Question Number 2: Do you have the budget to switch to Windows 11?
Windows 11 requires at least a 1GHZ dual-core processor, 4 GB of RAM, and at least 64 GB of storage (to name a few) for it to work AND a TPM Module (geek speak for a security feature).
To make it work for your entire business, you may need to do some hardware upgrades.
Question Number 3: Do you need to make the switch?
If it would help your workflow to have an upgraded Teams app, Widgets, a Snap layout function, and improved security features, then make the switch.
But if you’re still not sure what to do, it’s worth having a chat with your IT provider to find out which solutions will work best for your business.
