AC Electrical extend premises after outgrowing them in only twelve months; Company purchases neighbouring building to create additional office space; Business backed by fee free loan from The Royal Bank of Scotland.
An increase in trade has seen Bredbury based electrical services company, AC Electrical (North) Limited, extend and renovate its business premises on Stockport Road West after only twelve months of relocating there.
Supported by The Royal Bank of Scotland (RBS), the company, who moved to the site in February 2013, has recently completed the purchase of a neighbouring building and carried out extensive renovation work to merge the two together, creating additional working space for the business to operate from. In full, a suite of offices, separate meeting room and storage facilities have been created at the site, all of which have been finished to a high specification.
One of the North West’s fastest growing providers of electrical installation and services, AC Electrical delivers maintenance, construction and communications services to a wide range of clients throughout the UK. These include local councils such as Stockport Metropolitan Borough Council and Manchester City Council, schools, hospitals and other divisions of the NHS. The organisation currently turns over in excess of £1m per year and employs 30 people locally.
RBS has supported the company since it began trading, more recently providing a six figure fee free loan to help finance the purchase of the new premises and ongoing renovation work. The loan has been provided under the banks Government backed Funding for Lending Scheme (FLS), a scheme specifically designed to offer more support to SME’s by making borrowing more affordable. Under the arrangement businesses can take advantage of loans with lower interest rates and no arrangement fees.
The company now plans to focus on its continued growth objectives, aiming to double the size of its operations during the course of the next three years.
Adrian Knowles, Managing Director of AC Electrical said:
“I started out in 1997 as a sole trader and since then have worked tirelessly to develop the business. The company is based on the ethos of offering a true and honest service for our customers and this has always stood us in good stead. We now have a firm base of clients who we have ongoing and increasingly larger contracts with, in addition to regular project work.
“We moved to Stockport Road West in 2013 and since then have increased the number of office and administration staff we employ. When the opportunity to purchase the building next door came about I knew that it was something we needed to look at as we had already begun to outgrow our exisiting offices. Now the purchase and renovation work is complete I am thrilled with the result. We have created a large and professional workspace for our employees containing offices, meeting rooms and storage facilities. The new building also offers us plenty of extra capacity to accommodate the planned growth of the business.
“The funding we received from RBS has been instrumental in allowing us to take on the new premises and I cannot thank them enough for their support. I have worked with the bank for over ten years and Lynn our relationship manager has always gone the extra mile to support the business during periods of growth when we’ve needed it.”
Lynn Hall, Relationship Manager at The Royal Bank of Scotland (pictured left) added:
“We have built up a great relationship with Adrian and the team at AC Electrical over the last ten years. They have built a solid business by offering a quality service to clients which has in turn secured their longevity and success.
“The new premises are ideal, the team has created a fabulous space to operate the business from with sufficient room to accommodate further growth. We wish them all of the best with their plans for expansion.”
