Emirates, who operate three flights daily from Manchester to Dubai, have revealed that it has carried over 2.5 million passengers in Emirates premium cabins from the UK in the last decade.
This milestone coincides with the unveiling of the new 777 First Class Cabin during the Dubai Air Show on 12th November.
Demand for premium travel has continued to be resilient in the last decade, with discerning travellers looking for ultimate comfort and ease when flying, whether for business or pleasure. Emirates’ network helps passengers from across the UK to reach many popular destinations around the world with just one connection.
The top destinations for travellers in Business Class were Singapore, Perth and Sydney, while Malé, Sydney and Singapore were most popular amongst First-Class passengers.
The new 777 First-Class suites, inspired by Mercedes-Benz S-Class, take luxury and privacy to the next level. Offering up to 40 square feet of personal space each, these spacious, fully-enclosed private suites are laid out in a 1-1-1 configuration. The latest Emirates 777 aircraft with these new features will enter commercial service on 1 December, making its debut on flights to Geneva and Brussels.
Laurie Berryman, Vice President UK & Ireland, Emirates said:
“Emirates is renowned globally for offering an award-winning premium travel experience and we look forward to introducing our new First-Class cabins to passengers, and to many more decades of successful travel.
“Whenever we unveil a change to any of our cabins, we ensure to work closely with our passengers directly to offer them what they want. On this occasion, we have updated the First Class offering to feature ground breaking technologies, such as the virtual windows for middle seats and zero-gravity seats to continue to offer best in class travel.”
The new 777 cabins join the A380 First Class offering, which has been leading the charge of innovation in premium flying among its competitors. Notable changes to its First and Business classes in the last decade include the announcement of private First-Class cabins in A380s and 777s, the introduction of Bulgari vanity kits for both Business and First Class, as well as the world-first moisturising pyjamas in First Class. Emirates was also the first airline to offer in-flight shower-spas for First Class passengers.
Emirates is also continuing to innovate with its chauffeur service. Along with its new First-Class cabins inspired by Mercedes-Benz S-Class, the airline will introduce a new fleet of chauffeur driven Mercedes S-Class for premium passengers arriving in the UAE, to enjoy seamless travel to and from Dubai airport. Passengers in the UK can also make use of Emirates’ Chauffeur Drive service, which will pick up First Class passengers from anywhere within a 150-mile radius of the airport, and Business Class passengers within a 70-mile radius.
This year, Emirates was recognised as the ‘Best Airline in the World’ at the TripAdvisor Travellers’ Choice Awards for airlines. The award was based on thousands of reviews Emirates received from the TripAdvisor community over the past twelve months. Emirates was the most positively reviewed airline in the industry over that period.
Passengers can fly First Class from London Heathrow, London Gatwick, Manchester and Birmingham to Dubai 12 times per day. Those preferring Business Class can fly from the same as First Class, as well Glasgow and Newcastle, a combined total of 13 times a day.
