Stockport based Rowlinson Knitwear has struck gold with a second consecutive Gold Investors in People – IIP – accreditation.
The UK’s market leader for personalised schoolwear, Rowlinson Knitwear (Rowlinson), has been re-awarded the Investors in People (IIP) Gold standard, the highest IIP standard for people management.
The Gold Investors in People accreditation acknowledges the Stockport-based knitwear manufacturer has what it takes to lead, support and manage people for sustained commercial success. The IIP assessment revealed that Rowlinson had achieved 192 evidence points out of a possible 196, confirming the manufacturer remains among the elite 7% of IIP Gold accredited organisations across the UK.
Established in 1935 and employee-owned since 2015, Rowlinson manufactures high quality knitwear for the school-wear and corporate wear markets, serving customers across the UK and Ireland. A values-led business, Rowlinson’s ethical philosophy puts trust, care for all and a quest for improvement at the heart of everything it does.
Neil Ward, Commercial Director at Rowlinson, comments,
“Everyone at Rowlinson is extremely focused on finding ways to improve our business and we really want everyone to feel they can speak up and suggest ways that we can be better. Our managers listen well and put people’s suggestions into operation, wherever possible. As a result of this, trust and respect are firmly embedded in our culture.”
Nicola Ryan, Head of People Services at Rowlinson, says,
“ Every aspect of how we support our people enables us to help our people reach their potential. As an example, we emphasise apprentice recruitment, as we firmly believe in giving young people an opportunity to build their career and learn important work skills within a stable and caring workplace. In return, our approach delivers great employee satisfaction and our focus on collaborative working enables us to deliver excellent client service. To have Investors in People re-endorse our approach is extremely gratifying.”
Paul Devoy, Head of Investors in People, said,
“Achieving the Investors in People Gold standard is something that any organisation should be truly proud of. We’d like to congratulate Rowlinson Knitwear on their reaccreditation with the IIP Gold standard, which acknowledges the strong emphasis they place on raising standards and investing in their people for the future.”
Established in 1935 and an employee-owned company since 2015, Rowlinson is committed to caring for its people, reinforced with its Investors in People Gold award, Workplace Wellbeing Charter National award for England and Best Employer of the Year at The Stockport Business Awards in 2014 and 2015.
