Events company Victoria Warehouse appointed Stockport based Dawn to create a new brand identity for Festivo, ‘Cheshire’s finest fiesta’.
Victoria Warehouse is a completely unique and innovative events company in the heart of Manchester working with brands such as Adidas, Audi, Facebook, Netflix and L’Oréal at their Trafford Road warehouse.
December’s Festivo, set in a bespoke marquee space at The Colony in Wilmslow, was an ode to white beach parties where the event branding cleverly reflected a winter wonderland as well as Mediterranean summers and crystal clear seas.
Dawn’s managing director David O’Hearns explained their approach to such a unique brief:
“Natural curves, brushstrokes and watercolour marks informed our approach – references of bespoke, luxury experiences was exactly what Festivo needed. We used colour, form and bursts of vivid detail to draw on the worlds of beauty, fashion, fine dining and boutique entertainment.
“The base forms of the logo marque are taken from Minion Pro. Inspired by classical typefaces of the late Renaissance era, Minion Pros references to the arts, sculpture, literature and music was a perfect fit. The traditional bracketed serif forms were furnished with accents, solid spacing and bespoke dents taken from the structure of a marquee canopy.”
Set on a white backdrop, rich blues, purples and greens created a visually exciting and intense palette, while also referencing winter, oceans, and summery blue skies.
Dawn created a suite of print and digital collateral including a website, web banners, MPUs, various print ads, and an EDM. Hand-drawn icons were brought in across digital applications, complimented with splashes of watercolour.
