With just two weeks to go until the nomination deadline for this year’s Institute of Chartered Accountants (ICAEW) Manchester Accountancy and Finance Excellence Awards, organisers are calling for talent to come forward from their 5000-strong membership group.
The prestigious annual Awards dinner will take place on 9th March at Manchester’s Lowry Hotel. It is there that the contributions and outstanding achievements of local accountancy professionals – who inspire excellent performance in both practice and business – will be recognised by the ICAEW, the world leading professional membership organisation.
Award categories include Finance Leader in Practice, Finance Leader in Business, Accountancy Team of the Year and Rising Star. Deadline for the awards is 23rd January.
Winners will be those who, in the opinion of the judges, have made the most significant contribution to economic prosperity in Manchester, looking at success as a business, influence on economic development and support for charitable or other voluntary activities.
This year’s winners will be in good company, picking up accolades that in 2016 were given to Helen Besant-Roberts from HURST, NCC Group’s Atul Patel, Peninsula Group and Mazars’ Charlene Nunn.
The March Awards event’s headline sponsors are Manchester Metropolitan University, finance and legal recruitment specialists Sellick Partnership and specialist lenders Together.
Now in its fourth year, the ICAEW Manchester Accountancy and Finance Excellence Awards dinner has become one of the biggest networking and social events in the calendar for chartered accountants working in Greater Manchester.
This year’s guest speaker is Nick Hewer – Countdown presenter and former advisor to Lord Sugar on The Apprentice for a decade.
Alan Clarke, ICAEW Manchester President, said: “There is such great accountancy and finance talent across Greater Manchester that it is an absolute privilege to be able to recognise it with our awards. We’re now in our fourth year and the quality and number of nominations of gets better each time. And there is still time for any members who haven’t yet made a nomination – there is no limit on the number of categories for submissions.
”We’re very much looking forward to welcoming members and sponsors to the Awards dinner where we will celebrate and congratulate our tremendous talent and success that we have here in Greater Manchester.”
