Visitors to Stockport to watch the 2019 Tour of Britain make its way through the borough are being encouraged by the Seashell Trust charity in Cheadle Hulme to consider making a weekend of it and enter their charity cycling sportive the following day, Sunday 15 September.
Britain’s biggest professional cycle race will return to Greater Manchester for the first time in 15 years this year. The event in September sees all 10 of the city’s boroughs feature in the final stage on Saturday 14 September.
Thanks to a range of local sponsors include Starkey Laboratories based in Hazel Grove, the event hopes to see around 300 riders take on one of four different routes exploring Cheshire, the Peak District and Staffordshire.
