Local club, Stockport County, have joined One Stockport’s efforts to tackle the coronavirus pandemic in the town and Keep Stockport Safe.
Since coming under the ownership of businessman Mark Stott, Stockport County have showed great commitment to the local community through raising over £200,000 in their Food for Christmas appeal.
Now the team are keen to support One Stockport’s ambition to create better connected communities and promote health & wellbeing. Where better place to start than with the players themselves!
The fight against coronavirus is serious and one of the best ways we can help to keep ourselves and others safe is by following the guidelines to wash our hands, ensure we use a well-fitted face covering and respect each others space by keeping at least 2 metres apart. These measures will help stop the spread and get us back watching games in the ground sooner!
Taking part in a poster campaign to drive home the message are County stars Liam Hogan – Club Captain – Defender; Lois Maynard – Midfielder; John Rooney – Midfielder and James Jennings – Defender.
County’s Head of Commercial Olivia Hanvey arranged the photoshoot in support of the Keep Stockport Safe message:
Here at Stockport County, just like any other business, we have had to adapt the way we operate to be ‘Covid-compliant’. We are looking forward to welcoming back the fans but in the meanwhile we all have to our bit to stay safe. The players were quick to volunteer to feature on our poster to remind everyone to follow the guidelines – Hands, Face, Space.
“The whole club is behind One Stockport who are doing a great job in encouraging us all to support our local businesses, take care of our communities and look after heath & wellbeing”
