Registered Childminding gives individuals with a passion to work with children the opportunity to build a career that can be both rewarding and tailored to match their lifestyle. Stockport Council is holding a free information session for anyone interested in finding out more about becoming a Childminder on Wednesday 9th September 2015.
The importance of the early years in every child’s life is well known. During this time, children begin to explore the world around them and form secure, loving attachments. Whilst a lot of this learning takes place at home, childcare can also have a key role to play for working families.
Registered Childminding gives parents and guardians the opportunity to have their child cared for in a safe and stimulating home environment, where they receive high quality childcare and education.
As a Childminder you can make a real difference to the lives of children. By providing each child you care for with individual play and learning opportunities, you will not only have fun, but also help them develop important skills that they will build on in later life. It is a career where no two days are ever the same, and you have the flexibility to fit work around your family’s needs.
To help Childminders as they step into their new career, the Government has recently doubled the business start-up grant on offer. A £500 grant is now offered to all newly qualified Childminders to help with them with the costs of setting up their Childminding Business.
Stockport Council is hosting a free information session on Wednesday 9th September 2015, 6:30pm – 8.30pm.
The information session will provide attendees with a wealth of information about Childminding as a career, the opportunities it offers you and the support available locally as well as information about the start-up grant. At the event you with also have the opportunity to enrol on a 10 week evening course that will cover all the requirements to Register as a Childminder with Ofsted.
Councillor Shan Alexander, Executive Member for Safe & Resilient Communities at Stockport Council commented that
“Giving children the best start in life is important. As a Council we want to ensure parents have access to the childcare they may need and prefer. We are fortunate to have a network of first class Childminders here in Stockport but want to keep building on this strength. I would encourage anyone who is passionate about working with children to see if Childminding could be for them.”
