Stockport Council is encouraging local businesses to apply for their free Broadband Connection Voucher, of up to £3,000, before time runs out.
Funded by Central Government, Broadband Connection Vouchers are available to any small and medium sized business in Stockport looking to improve their connectivity by installing new equipment or upgrading their current facilities. But the pot of funding is limited and is quickly being allocated, so companies have don’t have much time left to make sure they benefit from the scheme.
Registering is quick, easy and can be done online via www.connectionvouchers.co.uk
To date, over 150 Stockport based businesses have benefited from the voucher programme. Companies can tailor how they spend their grant ensuring it meets their needs. Solutions that have been implemented have ranged from the upgrading of wireless broadband connectivity to the installation of new fibre broadband technology into the business premises.
One local company that has received a voucher and is benefiting from a faster, more reliable connection is Clarke Nicklin, based at Cheadle Royal Business Park.
Brian Bradley, Partner at Clarke Nicklin commented that
“The voucher couldn’t have come at a better time for us. We were looking at increasing our broadband speed as it is imperative we have the IT infrastructure in order to deliver the service our client’s require in the current fast paced business environment we operate. The Broadband Connection Voucher was a fantastic way to minimise our capital outlay and the improved connectivity speed is invaluable to us as a business.”
Councillor Patrick McAuley, Executive Member for Thriving Economy at Stockport Council said:
“I would encourage all eligible Stockport businesses to sign up for the Connection Voucher programme whilst there is still time. Improving your connectivity could open many doors for your business and the chance to get up to £3,000 towards the cost of doing this is one that shouldn’t be missed.”
