This week MAN Diesel & Turbo UK Ltd welcomed the Chinese General Consul of Manchester to their UK headquarters in Hazel Grove.
Mr Pan, who has been in his post since October 2011, was accompanied by his wife Mrs Zhu, Mr Zhoasheng (Consul) and Ms Sue Shore, External Relations & Resilience Manager at Stockport Council.
The purpose of the visit was to introduce Mr Pan to MAN detailing the significant business dealings the Company has in China with more than 650 employees across 7 locations and License Agreements with more than 20 Chinese Companies. China is the most significant country for the Shipping Industry where MAN Diesel & Turbo is the market leader.
Mr Pan was also shown around the MAN PrimeServ Academy, 1 of only 12 in the World, highlighting the Company’s commitment to the training and development of its own employees, its customers and focus on attracting young people to this Industry
In support of the important link between Greater Manchester and China, Wayne was invited to the House of Lords this week, for a networking lunch where Mr Greg Clark, the Minister responsible for Cities Policy, confirmed the critical role Greater Manchester plays in the continual development of business with China.
