Stockport based branded textiles firm Character World is hoping its sales will only go in One Direction after signing a European licensing deal.
The Cheadle company has the UK licence to make duvet sets and other household goods featuring the five piece boy band.
It already sells the products through retailers like Argos, Amazon, JD Williams, Wilkinsons and Claire’s Accessories. Now, it has secured the licence to sell them across Europe.
Head of European sales Irene Vedder said:
“We’re delighted to be extending our current One Direction UK agreement into the rest of Europe. The band is enjoying unprecedented success across the globe and we’re confident our designs will be as well received in Europe as they have been in the UK.
“When the band starts their European tour next year, we’re expecting sales to soar. It’s an exciting time for the business with a number of deals in the pipeline which will put us firmly on the European map.”
Character World also has the licenses to produce bedroom accessories for brands including JLS, Little Mix, Disney, Hello Kitty, Moshi Monsters, and Nintendo. www.characterworld.uk.com
